Garden Park Unity Church is the ideal place for your wedding. Our inclusive wedding policy respects the diversity of society, welcoming all people regardless of sexual orientation or religious affiliation. Our goal is to provide a positive, spiritual, non-denominational environment for weddings at a reasonable price. Many couples who use our services either do not have a regular church home, or for some reason cannot be married in their own church. Church membership and classes are not required, although attendance at a Sunday service (11:00 a.m.) is suggested.

Our church features two wedding locations:

(1) Beautiful sanctuary with large windows looking into the garden area - seats up to 250.

(2) Outdoor garden and gazebo, although the main church sanctuary is available at a moment's notice in case of inclement weather. Approximately 10 chairs are available for less ambulatory guests. Couples must rent/provide chairs if all guests are to be seated.

Experienced ministers are available to officiate and coordinate the wedding and are assigned to each wedding as their schedules permit. They present wedding ceremonies that are positive, contemporary, and supportive of the couple.

Standard Wedding

This is our most popular wedding, and is suited for formal and semi-formal weddings. A Unity candlelighting can be incorporated into the ceremony, but the couple must provide the Unity candle lighting set, which they can then keep to relight ontheir anniversaries. Up to 250 guests may attend.

Simple Wedding

Couples who select this wedding are usually on a budget, but want something more than an office wedding. Recorded music is available at no extra charge. Up to 50 guests may attend.

Church fee: $300.00

Minister's fee: $200.00

Rehearsal fee $100.00

Total cost: $600.00

Office Wedding

This wedding is for those couples who want to be married quickly. The ceremony is short, yet meaningful. Up to 10 guests may attend. Ceremony can be held in the sanctuary, small chapel, friendship room, or gazebo.

Church fee: $100.00

Minister's fee: $200.00

Total cost: $300.00

Our Wedding Packages

Scheduling & Payment: Wedding dates are on a first come first served basis, so couples are encouraged to make arrangements as far in advance as possible. To reserve a date, a $100.00 non-refundable deposit is required for a Simple Wedding, a $200.00 non-refundable deposit for a Standard Wedding. No deposit is required for an Office Wedding. Full payment is due at least three (3) weeks prior to the wedding day. Make checks for the church, minister, rehearsal, and accompanist payable to Garden Park Unity Church. Make checks for soloists payable directly to those individuals. Payment by credit card is also available (VISA, MC). All fees are doubled if the wedding is held on any of the seven major holidays (i.e., New Year's Eve & Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve & Day).

Rehearsals: All simple and standard weddings require a rehearsal. The rehearsal fee is $100.00. The couple and the minister will work together to determine the time of the rehearsal.

Orientation Meeting: Couples need to be in contact with the minister via email or phone or meet in the office to go over the ceremony and make final arrangements. Premarital counseling is available at a fee of $50 per hour.

Weddings at Other Locations: Weddings at other locations may be arranged with the minister. Please contact the church for more information.

Other Ministers: Couples may provide a different minister of their own choosing to officiate, however, the regular minister's fee is still applicable since a Garden Park minister must be present to oversee each wedding.

Time: Office Weddings: A maximum of 30 minutes is allotted. Simple Weddings: A maximum of 2 hours is allotted (1 hour prior, 1 hour after scheduled time). Standard Weddings: A maximum of 3 1/2 hours is allotted (2 hours before and 1 1/2 hours after the scheduled wedding time). Punctuality is important since more than one wedding may be scheduled on the same day. Any request to open the church earlier or at another time will be subject to an additional charge of $75.00/hour.

Decorations: The sanctuary comes decorated with silk flower bouquets at no additional charge. Couples are free to decorate the sanctuary themselves as long as it is in good taste. The removal of furniture must be approved by the minister or representative of the church. Please, no wire or tape on pews (use ribbons, rubber bands or pipe cleaners). Candelabras, drip sheets, and a Unity candelabra are available and are included in the price of a Standard Wedding ($25 extra for Simple Wedding). Couples must provide their own dripless candles.

NOTE: All decorations, flower boxes, extra trash must be removed from the church after the wedding. We suggest bringing a couple of large trash bags and using the dumpster located in the rear parking area.

Other information & policies: A special dressing room is provided for the bride and her party. The groom and his party may dress in the downstairs area. Restrooms are also located on both floors. The church is wheelchair accessible with a ramp leading up to the front door. For safety reasons, the throwing of rice is not permitted. Bubbles are recommended. Birdseed is permitted, however be sure to throw birdseed outside the church building. The consumption of alcoholic beverages on the premises is prohibited. Please inform your guests - those not complying with this policy will be asked to leave the church. Smoking is not allowed inside the church building. We do not have facilities for wedding receptions (a list a nearby locations is available).
